Over the weekend, MAMAMOO performed their show at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, United States, as they were biding goodbye to the audience after finishing their encore performances, the girls noticed a fan in the front row holding up some pink panties to them. Mostly, throwing items onto the stage is prohibited at concerts as it could harm the artists but in this case, it was the vocalists themselves who asked the fan to throw the undergarments to them. The members asked the fan if this was her panties, before catching the bright-colored underwear thrown onto the stage.
In the videos posted by fans, MAMAMOO excitedly showed off their new gifts from the MOOMOO with members Solar and Hwasa even modeling them like shoulder bags. Solaer yelled before thanking the audience once again for attending their concert that evening. The pink panties incident became the talk of the town during the weekend but it was not at all random. It was said that the gifts the fans brought were references to the girl group’s old parody video of Robin Thickre’s Blurred Lines they made back in 2014. The parody was titled Pink Panties sung by Hwasa with other members that appeared in the music video as well.
Seemingly, the only old fans got the reference that night. Who knew, perhaps it was even a wish from the MOOMOO fan to have the girls do an updated version of the track. Regardless of the facts, MAMMOO surely appreciated the gesture. While the group engaged with the fans during a stage break, a sudden flurry of small pink packages from the crowd caught their attention. After recognizing the past, the members were instantly filled with smiles and laughter.
